What is chutney pudi?
Pudi means powder. Chutney pudi is a dry chutney made by roasting a main ingredient, such as groundnut, roasted gram, flaxseed, niger seed or fenugreek, and grinding it with chilli and spices. It sits next to the rice and the rotti on many Karnataka tables.

Gurellu Chutney Pudi ಗುರೆಳ್ಳು ಚಟ್ನಿ ಪುಡಿ Gurellu is niger seed, a small black seed used in the kitchens of Uttara Karnataka to make a distinctive dry chutney. Pack: 150 gm.
Menthe Chutney Pudi ಮೆಂತ್ಯ ಚಟ್ನಿ ಪುಡಿ Menthe is fenugreek. Roasted and ground, it gives a chutney powder an earthy aroma that pairs with plain rice or rotti. Pack: 150 gm.
How to eat chutney pudi
The classic way is with a rotti: break a piece, dip it in a little oil or ghee, then in the powder. It is just as good stirred into hot rice with a spoon of ghee, or sprinkled on dosa. Try it with jolada rotti and sajje rotti.
